After the term

Just go home!

Jul 7, 2010 in Political Blender by Errick Calloway

Remember the good old days when becoming president was the pinnacle of someone’s political career? They would serve for eight years and then retire to some faraway place, occasionally giving a speech here and there, but for the most part the priority was to play with their grandchildren. There was also the occasional unfortunate natural [...]

Sticks and stones…

After Desert Storm our vets came home with several illnesses, the most well known being “Gulf War Syndrome.” That war also brought about the rebirth of the long ignored Vietnam War term, “Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.” Have you ever noticed that the more syllables a word or phrase contains, the less meaning it has? After World [...]

1st Amendment

Selected Censorship

Jun 23, 2010 in Political Blender by Errick Calloway

Americans are always talking about the First Amendment and First Amendment rights, but I’m not sure most people know what this Amendment protects. The First Amendment consists of five freedoms: 1. Freedom of speech 2. Freedom of the press 3. Freedom of religion 4. Freedom to peaceably assemble 5. Freedom to redress grievances (disagree with [...]

torture

Say Uncle

What is the definition of torture? Do you have to break bones or leave bruises? What about psychological torture? Is sleep deprivation torture? What about sensory deprivation, such as loud music or 24 hours of darkness? The Pakistan intelligence service interrogates prisoners like this: 1. Prisoner is kept awake for 72 hours. 2. Pliers are [...]

Mums the Word

Jun 7, 2010 in Political Blender by Errick Calloway

Last week the Senate Arms Committee voted to overturn the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy with regard to gay men and women in the military. Don’t ask, don’t tell is the common nickname for a policy put forth by the Clinton administration in ‘93 to try and limit discrimination based on sexual orientation. Basically, [...]

Part II – Follow the money

May 28, 2010 in Political Blender by Errick Calloway

Last week I hammered the American people about personal responsibility and our role in the current economic situation. I believe it’s only fair that I explain the government’s role as well. Alan Greenspan was known as “the Wizard” for his ability to predict the ups and downs in the economy with almost pin-point precision. Everyone [...]

Credit Crisis

Since when is “Credit” a Crisis?

May 21, 2010 in Political Blender by Errick Calloway

I recently got into a debate with my brother-in-law about the cost of living today. He believes that the cost of goods and services combined with inflation have made it next to impossible for the middle class to live on one income anymore. My argument is that the average American household has WAY overextended itself [...]

Number 17

May 14, 2010 in Political Blender by Errick Calloway

When the Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution, congressional “service” was explained in the following way: Representatives were elected by the people. The number of representatives would be determined by the population of each district and could change every two years. The more people you have in your state, the more representatives you have in Congress. [...]

About Errick Calloway

Errick's love of country was put to the test at an early age. Three days after his 18th birthday; he joined the Army. Desert Storm was 12 days old. Errick began basic training on August 20, 1991 as an 11B (Infantryman).

With a very competitive nature and strong athletic background; Errick knew that if he was going to do this he was going to be the best. On December 13, 1991 he graduated Airborne School and began the Ranger Indoctrination Program (RIP). Two days before his 19th birthday, Errick was an Army Ranger stationed at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, GA. After several successful missions and a promotion, Errick suffered and unfortunate hip injury during a night parachute mission. With only 21 "jumps", Errick was no longer allowed to parachute and he was transferred to Ft. Stewart, GA. He found a home in military intelligence and was trained in counter intelligence; specializing in battlefield deception and comsec monitoring (eaves dropping) for two years.

Small town up bringing and blue color roots made Errick a conservative early on in life. The military taught Errick that if you want something you have to take it. His love of politics and willingness to teach is what keeps him focused in both his personal and professional life.

Fast forward 20 years... Errick has worked his way through the ranks of loss prevention and is now a retail theft/ fraud investigator specializing in employee theft interrogations. His core belief in the capitalist system and the small businessman as the backbone of our society; Errick has great respect for "the little guy", and routinely offers his services as a loss prevention/ security consultant.
